Main Relay

Postby sexyicon » June 3rd, 2010, 9:00 pm

Looking to change a main relay on a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback.

Car starts but once driven and shutdown..takes a 15 min cooldown before it starts back, starter also cranks a little longer. Have a feeling this may be relay related. Where can I locate one to buy locally ? Thanks

hey i had this problem
my solution was simply to resolder the terminals. they get cold and the circuit breaks.

Cosign.
I had a problem where when I start sometimes the car just bogs down. I get no fuel.
I soldered that relay and the problem went away. I even idle higher now where it's supposed to idle. There was another problem that went away. When I put on ignition I cant start until the check light comes off. If i tumble, thas it dey. 15 mins before I could start. That problem also went away.

Paul in Chagaunas show me where it was. I did it myself but he can do it for you. 733-5217.
If you can solder, it's the grey box with about 9 wires coming out of it by the bonnet pull lever.
Use a flathead to unplug it then open it with the flathead. Resolder the underside of the circuitboard with soldering wire. Don't just use the iron to heat them up, use wire to melt them. No need to replace the soldering, just heat things up and move to the next contact. If you wanna replace, there's an eg6 front cut and eg6 dash in Seenath's. most likely$100 for it.
