ACCORD V6 NEED HELP

Ok I have a 3.0 v6 engine in my accord , when I accelerate gradually it works fine but if I floor it the engine sputters like a rev limiter kind of feel and if I keep my foot on the gas it then looses power unless I let off the gas pedal, now this only occurs when I accelerate aggressively (floor it) can anyone say what this might be, what to check

So much could be the problem with those symptoms... Btw I do not have this engine or this vehicle but I have been reading up on some of the problems as I was thinking of putting engine into a civic... Start simple I guess

Disconnect battery for about 5 mins to reset ecu
I believe these engines have exhaust gas recirculation and in combination with the pcv the intake manifold tends to clog with excess carbon deposits... Clean intake and egr valve... And please don't power foam or sea foam the engine while it is running to clean it out. I am suggesting removal of manifold to clean but only if you have an egr.
Might be able to get a look inside by opening the throttle body all the way.
Could be a clogged fuel filter, a vacuum leak... So much can be the reason why... Hope you get through

I also realise that my gas consumption has gone up since this problem began

Forgot to mention check the basics... Air filter, sparkplugs, look for oil on spark plug wires... As I said.. So much could be the problem... Start by eliminating some of the unknowns/variables

K&N filter or OEM type replacement...I want to suspect ignition bit I am not sure... Not sure if your particular vehicle has a maf sensor or a map sensor. Maf sensors are affected more by contaminants than a map sensor

Do a basic tune up, I had an issue with sputtering tried all kinds of stuff, end up changing fuel filter and cleaned the injectors, seems to have worked. But the issue can be related to other stuff not mentioned eg. Fuel pressure when at WOT etc

Do you have a check engine light on? Cause if so, running a vehicle with no air filter that has a maf/map sensor will cause damage from debries to get on the sensor

still need help after 3 years?
You need a good mechanic.
This hesistation you describe can be caused by a number of factors you should let a good Honda mech take a look at it.
