Its just the front you upgraded right?

I'm just curious as to how the abs would react to the brakes.
It's not the same car, but I had problems with the rear disc brakes being "too strong" and locking up before the front. As a result the abs goes nuts. Solution: ditch abs and run crappier pads in the rear lol

oh... I see.

That has never ben an issue with the swifts.
Now, I can engage the ABS in the dry without too much drama and it works as designed. Usually factories will size the caliper / rotor combination to take care of that possiblility however if it becomes an issue, a proportioning valve is the best fix.

haaa usually is the key word.
Dont put it past Chrysler...

The problem only occurs under autox situations though. Daily driving one would probably never experience it.

Sorry... :drinking: lol

I dunno of an special procedure for that... just clean the rotors and take it easy at first.

^^....which is actually bad for your brake pads, and could shorten life.

proper bedding in requires that the pad material experience proper transfer to the rotor (increases pad "adhesion" or so most companies say).

Generally, most companies (Hawk, Stoptech, Carbotech for example) seem to recommend a procedure for bedding in which involves doing a series of medium to hard stops from 100 kph, or 80, or whatever.

The idea is to bring the pads up to temperature quickly, so that the friction material is bedded into the rotor metal. This extends rotor AND pad life.

Given how expensive those rotors are, I'm sure you'll want to extend life as much as possible.

Bed in procedures could still be done I'd think (assuming you haven't clocked tons of mileage already)....I'd ask XYZ about it if I were you.

Good install there btw bub. Saw the car up close recently, very sleeper!

According to stop-tech the pads can be bedded or re-bedded at any point in time.
From my experience, the hardest part of bedding in pads is finding a road where you can do it properly and not have to come to a complete stop with the pads hot (thereby defeating the purpose)..

I have a road that I use for this but it is far from ideal. That said, I have done this when I installed new pads and I have also done it on another vehicle to clean up some uneven material transfer onto the rotors..

^ ^ ^ Hi rado. Congrats on the 6-pot upgrade. Really looking good. BTW how much did this cost?

I know that the budget is always a BIG issue... but won't a larger "contact patch" (wider rims & tyres) reduce your braking distances for solodex even further? Maybe TWO sets of wheels?... Street... & wider ones for 'dex?

This may help to "fine tune" the system when track conditions change (wet/dry) at 'dex too...

Well Sanctifier, I have a good relationship with the local distributor  so the price was nice!

Thanks so much for the other tips... As you know, I'm a true novice at dex driving, but looking forward to the fun.

Big props for the burnishing tips! The brakes had started to squeel a bit, but now, (after bedding) it's quiet as a mouse with better feel!! It just proves that I'm not too old to learn :D

Thanks all!

Thanks. I had to upgrade my tires just to be able to use the brakes at autocoss / solodex.

Now, I just have to upgrade my navigation skills
