you sure its not the belts that need adjusting sometimes you need to readjust the belts and sometimes the belts are just defective!

if its humming...it could either be belts..a/c compressor bearing

a way to check if it has oil..wat i noticed my a/c man does do..is on the line marked L..open the cover..take ah lil match grain..press the valve..it gonna spray up..feel the gas to see how oily it feels...

but the only thing is u might not hav something to compare it wit nah..like the experienced person would kno if the oil is low or not..we might feel the oil and say well it hav..

well, i think if it were the belt, u would hear a more squeeky noise, this is more a hummin noise...
but i would still check back the belts

if you're seeing an oily residue on the compressor itself then you probably have a leak. mine sounded more like a buzzing, but anyway, it meant that the compressor needed oil. my a/c man removed my refrigerant and refilled it along with a can of refrigerant oil...noise gone...

will give it a try and see...

.--there is a shaft seal near the pulley on the a.c. crankshaft--it might be leaking(you would have to wipe off the oil and check to see if more returns)if the shaft seal is leaking ,

Can i use a Degreaser and wash it off :?:
