Strange problem

Postby ronsin1 » August 11th, 2007, 1:32 pm

The hood light in my car was not working so I bought a bulb when I put it in the socket (at the time the car was on and the deck was also on) the deck stopped playing and the clock stopped thought it was a small problem check through the fuses under the bonnet and under the dash and all were good when I reached home the power locks were not working when I armed the car the park lights that would normally blink were not blinking so I checked and also found out that the head light not working and also the hazard lights however when the car is started the head lights hazard lights and the power locks work fine

is there anyone here that can help! the car is a Lancer, CS2A

You need to check a certified electrician and do a full electrical , that normally works . Jus my two cents .....

sounds like something with the unswitched circuit, this would supply the memory wire in the deck, the clock, the ceiling lamp..everything that used power when the car is not switched on. check one of the fuses for these

^^^ well I thought so but thats not the problem checked each fuse and all were good and I did reset the ECU again but to no avail I thinking is one of the relays which haven't checked so if I do not get through with that I will be going to the electrician

I have found the problem it was 2 fuses but they were not burnt they were slack, next to the ECU there are 2 fuses in a yellow chamber those were the ones.
