Lancer cedia problems! need help

Postby Phil_Franc » April 28th, 2009, 11:11 am

1. I was experiencing a very rough high and low idle and often the car would cut off. I bought some throttle and air flow spray and cleaned out the throttle body and now the car idles much better and does not cut off anymore at all . Problem is the car still idles high and low to a smaller extent .
2. Also my gas guage stopped working (stays totaly down) a while back and the low level light stays on. Ive heard it is a common problem with the cs lancer models.
3. When i take a sharp corner to the right there is a knocking comming from the passengers side rear wheel. ?? Cradle arm needs changing?
I wud like to hear from other ppl who experienced these problems and what they did to fix it.

1. Your idle up unit may need servicing as well. After a while the plunger in the unit sticks, causing the idle to 'hunt' at times. Use a cleaner that would evaporate though like gumsolve, 3m has a good product can't remember the name.
3. The knocking coming from the rear may well be due to a bad cradle bushing. Go to an alignment shop an they would check it out for you.
