any knowledgeable electricain or a/c tech could identify the problem then recommend solutions.

Solution 1- replace the motor
(may be difficult to get,$$$?)

Solution 2- y u want breeze all over the place? leave it so...no cost involved!

Have some one check it out before you spend time & money on a replacement motor.

I have the following problem.
my Suzuki grand vitara emits a smell similar to what you get when you pass by the hairdressers
when they perm someones hair.
This only happens when the engine is stressed(kickdown or climbing hill).
From new I had problem, the company replaced the cabin filter, but same problem.
This has to be a common problem as I experience the exact same smell in my Primera wagon as well.

Some vehicles the compressor will turn off to give the engine more power when the kickdown engages.

the air gets hotter...there is your blower resistor that gets really hot mounted in the ducting system using the passing air to cool.

Compressor cuts off...air get warmer....resistor heats up abits more...smells like it's burning.

I was told this by an ac guy (not LSM),can anything be done to reduce problem, lets say maybe thermal wrap the resistor,or replace with one that will not smell, something.

Thanks for the advise in advance.

Reducing any airflow across the resistor will only make it burn out faster. Resistors range from $300- $1500.

Spray lysol into the intake vents with AC on full blast with vents open.
Should take care of the smell.

No breeze coming through the vents??? You may need a new blower motor.

the heater in my b15 stopped working, smoke/steam was coming thru the vents, vehicle was overheating, seems like the heater is leaking..

can this be repaired or what's the cost to replace?

Although the A/C system operates as a sealed recycling process, nothing is truely 100% sealed. It is normal to gas-up an a/c system every so often but if anything average 6 months you need to keep gassing up, you have a leak.

my car is a b13- i recently changed the A/C compressor on my car, the dryer bottle and cleaned the filter..everything topped up..the thing is that when the sun is really hott and i put on my ac, it takes a really long while to cool the car, if the place is cool, it cools fast...in rain its freezing...but its completely different in hott weather, almost 1/2 hour to cool and it doesnt even be really cold...if there is a car in-front i smell the exhaust...could it be that hot air is coming into the car somewhere? any thoughts will be appreciated! if you can fix it, i could come to you!

the almera a/c system is probably more efficient than the B13.
you could probably try adding another fan to the condenser.

well the b13 does only have 3 settings, really low, low then full blown, so mabe a fan could work!lol..lets see what the A/C man has to say!

What are you trying to do or diagnose?

Pressure & temperature are directly proportional.

Is there any added benefit to wrapping a/c lines in heat insulation? Will it make the system more efficient if it's shielded from engine bay heat?

I have a local CS3 (cedia shape) lancer, car is 8+ yrs old and the a/c system was never touched or re-gassed and it works very well, but this happened to me about 3 times in the past, when I turn on the switch the engine idle increases slightly then drops back down to normal, the blower comes on but the compressor didnt engage...the funny thing is that this only happened when the place was hot, when the place cooled down it came on....and also sometimes it takes a couple seconds to engage and other times it comes on right away...i know its an electrical problem but given the symptoms what has to be replaced to prevent this from happening permanently...thanks
