Help with a box lancer

Postby pelpa » April 3rd, 2015, 10:10 am

Ok. Bought a box lancer. Attempted to put in a stereo and realized I'm not getting the accessory wire. Getting everything else. Wat could cause it and how can I fix the problem? Thanks

Just join the accessory wire WITH ANY wire that has current (Make sure that when car is OFF that "that" wire STILL has current)

no the accessory wire will be off wen the key is completly switched off, trace it back to where the original deck would have been, check the fuse box cover and look at which ones are accessory and tap from fuse box wires

The accessory wire is what stores the settings in the deck, so that you dont have to reset it EVERYtime u start the deck. IF this wire has no power for 15seconds The settings will be RESET. thus this wire needs power constantly even when the car is off

u sure is the accessory wire u talking about bro? y is it called accessory and not battery+? the constant supply should be to the battery directly with fuse of course. ik the accessory wire is the one u hookup so wen u switch on d car it powers up the deck.

No your wrong.

There are two power wires the direct battery+ wire which provides constant power to the deck which allows it to save presets and settings. Then there is the accessories wire which only when the key is turned on to accessories position current is sent to turn on the deck.

That said just check the wires by the fuse box and use the wire that gets current only when the key is turned to the accessories position and use that one.

Take battery power from door light in fuse box (once working) or run a direct wire with fuse from car battery.
Take Acc from cigarette lighter.( for deck to work with ignition switch)

^Absolutely correct. For more info check link http://www.wikihow.com/Properly-Wire-a-Car-Stereo
if you cant get it from the cigarette lighter, trace the clock wire and use that, it should also have 2 power wires, a constant 12V and one that comes on with the key, use a tester light to check it

VERY WRONG....

theres two wires a 12 + constant - this is what keeps deck memory and other stuff...and a 12 + accessory wire - this only get power when the key is turned to the acc position....

what you told the man to do.....is in essence..total tata.

OP trace back the wires to the fuse box...ad see whats goin on in there.

Abraham we all here to learn stuff ..so check back your wiring in the b13 to make sure it correct...

yea...umm that doesn't make sense...as ANY device / electronics wired to the 12+ accessory wire will now be powered - even when the car is off...

when you tie the 12+ accessory wire to the 12 V constant..you're feeding current from the 12+ constant into another circuit (12+ accessory) which supposed to be switched..all the way back to the fuse box...and given that you want bigger alternator...you're doing a recipe for bun dong car.... :!:

i want to be able to play music even if car is Off...so how can i do that? :O
EDIT: OH sheit! i forgot that when car iss off there is on switch OFF-ACC-ON ill test with tester and change it to the ACC position to turn on...
Thanks skyline! :D

i you want to play music when the car is off you will need to find another circuit to tap into...that has a 12+ when the key is off...

OR

what you can do is join the accessory wire and the 12+ constant wire - on the DECK harness....an connect that to the 12+ constant wire on the car harness. the 12+ accessory wire that comes from the car harness tape it up to ensure it cant ground off nowhere...and u should be ok.

the "switch " your referring to with "OFF-ACC IGN-ON" is the ignition switch....

in the OFF position nothing has power..

in the accessory position things like the clock and stereo and such work....

in the ignition position the fuel pump engages...blower motor ( for the AC works) as well as power window switches.

start position..car starts....

if you want your deck to play with the key on..separate those wires and wire it accordingly....the deck has a 12+ constant( for memory) and a 12+ power wire- only has power when the key is on..this is the accessory wire.....
