If you are converting a QG18 to Y11 with a GA15 exhaust manifold and no catalytic converter or EGR equipment, we recommend a 2.5" exhaust pipe from front to rear. This tube size provides a good balance between increased performance and minimal backpressure. As stated in the Honda Tech forums, a larger pipe (2.
5" or 3") will allow you to extract more power from your engine, especially since you are removing the catalytic converter and EGR device. However, it is important to consider that a larger pipe may result in increased booming and noise.
In your case, a 2.5" pipe should provide a good compromise between increased performance and noise levels.
Additionally, you can add a high-flow metal-core resonator and a quality muffler to reduce boom and noise.
To ensure smooth and safe operation, purchase hose kits from a trusted supplier and install and weld them properly.
