QG15 Overheating help!!

Postby Pinz » November 17th, 2024, 2:14 pm

Good day guys, I'm have an overheating issue, I've changed water pump, one of the cooling fans, temperature guage sensor, radiator and both hoses on the radiator. The water is not circulating, the water is boiling within the top hose while the lower hose is cold. No water loss or miss fire. If I drive the car you'll see the temperature fluctuating. I'm out of ideas, what can be restricting the circulation? Also there's no thermostat.

No thermostat and restriction of circulation means a clog somewhere.

Could the restriction be in the cooling channels within the block? Or the possibility of it being a collapse with the head gasket ?

See you said no thermostat but the hoses being hot and cold says otherwise.
The hose condition will exist for a while until the thermostat opens but you said you don't have one so not sure what to exactly tell you to do.
Visit your mechanic for him to diagnose properly.
A cooling system is a very easy system to understand and troubleshoot.

If you had the problem before and after you change all those parts it can still be a few items. Was the system flushed properly of sediments like rust? In addition to draining the system you would have introduced the possibility of air pockets, was the system bled properly? Also, is the water pump belt loose or not tensioned properly. All simple checks assuming you have a good mechanic.

"The water is not circulating, the water is boiling within the top hose while the lower hose is cold."
is how a cooling system normally works.

How did you determine the water is not circulating?
If any other Consult II is not seeing a fluctuation matching your temperature gauge, you need to check the wiring to your panel, or a new panel.
