hey, a little while after i bought my Frontier i had a problem where the engine was tumbling over kinda dead....so it would take long to start. Thought it was the battery, but it wasn't. I took down the starter and found the brushes were done. Replaced the brushes and serviced the starter.....all was well.

it also caused the engine light to come on.

to all frontier owners and prospective owners, the yd 25 engine does have some problems including starter, piston and turbo. please be advised, the zd 30 is the better engine so i'd advise go with 4x4. u wont regret it.

not too sure about that fact. what i know for sure is that it have an oil supply problem which causes turbo and piston failure resulting in engine failure. The oil pump gets the oil from the sump through suction from a tube built into the sump, the link between the pump and the tube is a rubber seal, in the zd30 it is actually held together with two 10 bolts. If this seal is bad or shifts for any reason the pump will suck some air, especially is the oil level is low, this is where the problem begins.

yeh i had this same problem with the starter... got it repaired.. right now the turbo is giving some problems... the seals are leaking and oil is entering on both the exhaust and intake.....

Going to change the seals but was wondering if the oil supply problem is easy to address?
