I used a bottle of injector cleaner in previous fill up and did get a bit of smoking but it went away with current fill up.

14lover, do you have the original air filter set up or a cone filter in the car? I once had a b15 with a cone filter and fuel consumption similar to your situation.

Guys, my y11 reach 80,500kms and I changed the air flow sensor (5 pin) just as a preventative measure. Performance is the same as I got over 300kms per 1/2 tank with both the old and new sensors.
I will post the air flow sensor up for sale soon. its is in great condition.

How much does it normally cost to replace piston rings on QG15?

Yesterday I went to a technician and told him about my story, he told me that it could be the injectors. I doubted him because after all the cleaning they took, they had to be good. So I left the car with him because I had some errands to make. He made some checks and apparently he found an injector to be faulty,it was leaking gas profusely. So he changed it. I filled my tank with gas a nd drove 100kmkm last night and only a littleless than quarter tank of gas consumed. I am so relived that this problem has been rectified and I'm now starting to enjoy my QG 16. Safe driving fellas and thanks for all the the info you contributed.

Fellas, I need Alyuh help with what I think is an oil consumption issue with my QG15.

I changed oil November 1, 2013 and to date I have used the remaining qty of magnatec 20w50 and an additional quart.

No smoke...mileage ok...292km on 3/4 tank.

How should go about fixing this issue. Don't want to spend unnecessarily.

Thanks in advance.

PCV valve to be serviced? just a suggestion....

gotta be a leak or if your engine consuming oil it will smoke blue, mainly on harder acceleration or high load on the engine.

this all depends on what grade and brand of oil he uses , ahhhhh,,, if its castrol gtx or magnatec , both of them will burn up inside the engine with heat , valvoline is another 1 does the same , I suggest NP or shell straight 50

Yes, I get that sometimes from a really cold start (more than 24 hours since the engine last run) or when I start with the A/C on, the car usually "catches itself" withing a few seconds though

No, I'm just going to do a service, clean injectors and throttle body and see how it goes

EDIT: Corrected a typo

I really don't understand the cause so it's a bit difficult to understand the effects to really say how bad of a problem it is or can cause.

Hi eitech. Thanks for posting your valuable experience on TriniTuner. Since your car appears to be in very good working condition, you would not have seen much improvements as mentioned. However, the ceramic coating continue to protect your engine from wear due to friction and heat, thus prolonging your engine's life. We suggest to continue treatment every 40,000km in order to maintain optimal benefits and keep your vehicle in great working condition as it is now. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Have you tried a search on PDFtown.com?

If that doesn't work call this guy he installed and wired a QG18 in a K10 Nissan March: 376-3529. His name is Arnold.

just converted to a qg18 (cable) engine and tranny, from a qg16 in a local.

wired over and diagnostics says that some solenoids in the tranny showing up- overrun clutch s/v, t/c clutch sol. valve, line pressure s.v,

and "at comm line" from the engine...

any advice? it is working fine though... its still under the 1 month warranty.

Morning tuners, this is a bit long but please hear me out.

Synopsis: Got burned twice..Changed my engine last year from a QG13 Plastic Cover to a QG15 Aluminum Cover. I honestly didn't know there were 2 types of QG15's..a partner of mine told me QG13 to QG15 is take out-drop in..same brain, wiring will work..apparently the (quacka**) mechanic didn't know the difference either..so car didn't want to start..pushed it around the corner to an electrician, who partially wired the new engine..to the old brain.. (don't ask  ). The car drives but I've never gotten the performance of other QG15s I know..fuel economy included..
I have the brain that came with QG15 still but the harness it came with is cut..what I'd like to know is if I simply buy an uncut harness and switch it with the harness currently in my car along with the new brain, if I would run into any problems and if it's as simple as 'plug and play' with the new harness. If not does anyone have a coding diagram so if know what connector goes where? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Hey guys I have a foreign QG16 that came original in the almera, the problem is that i find it burns alot of gas compared to alot of other qgs out there.
Engine is well maintained,
drop in k&n air filter, cleaned and oiled regularly,
MAF sensor cleaned regularly,
went and did a throttle body and decarbonization, mech said it was very clean already,
tank fuel filter changed,
platinum tip plugs cleaned and gapped regular,
amsoil 10w-30 changed every 10k with oil filter changed every 5k

I get about 320Km ($140 Imbert price  )on a tank :| , driving style aggressive, debe to pt fortin and back every day and pt fortin to st Augustine twice per week. Fill up every 3 days.

I have to replace the transmission, i know that, does anyone think that the slipping of the tranny can cause losses like this?

Another problem is when i leave the car down for a few days (3), when started the engines rpm is very high(close to about 2000rpm)

Any suggestions?
