The SR 16 is rare.. so if sumting goes boom..... where does that leave you?

I could be wrong but there is also more aftermarket support for the SR20.....

I've owned several SR vehicles and can attest to the tunability and strength of the engine....

The engine blocks are the same. The cylinder bore are the same. The SR16 crankshaft has a shorter stroke, which lowers the displacement, but allows it to safely rev to higher RPMs. The SR16 has more aggressive camshaft specifications. The camshafts from the SR16 are considered to be an upgrade for SR20VE.
The SR16VE N1 engines had further upgraded camshafts, upgraded intake manifold (8 injectors) and a larger 70 mm throttle body and were found in the limited edition Nissan Pulsar VZ-R N1

Yes, the normal SR16VE. The one with the blue valve cover that came in some N15 pulsars.

The worst that can happen with this (stock) engine, is you buss d timing chain, bend some valves, and break a cam shaft, and all them parts available online.
