The clicking noise could also be the spindle bearing ( the arm under the upper cradle) there's a bearing in there. this is the defect of the p11 at least that what's I heard. Also could be the stabilizer bar bushings.

I need to post some pics. On both sides, i noticed a circular rubber piece between two ends. Both were cracked. Will post pics tomorrow.

Crap. Was hoping it wasn't but I'm getting vibrations now too which is a sign. Looks like a complete overhaul of the front is in order.

took pics from the side(not very good), seeing what looks like a rubber piece between the two rods(not technical with the suspension parts). On both sides, they look broken and worn.

I doubt that's the only thing but it's what i could physically see......

Checked it by one guy, said he felt nothing wrong with it. Going for a second opinion and get a suspension check and maybe alignment. I'm getting brakes so I'm guessing it's a suspension issue of some sort. Owner asked told me to fill the tires with nitrogen to improve the ride quality.

I'm thinking that too. Asked him last night about bushings and ends and he said everything is new. Still going for the suspension check of course.

Believe it or not, the noise is less frequent. I noticed my brake pads front were wearing uneven. Checked tire pressure and found that one side had less pressure than the other. Put air in all tires and ride quality improved slightly. Will be changing all pads in a while and doing a suspension check and alignment regardless.

Yeah go by a good mechanic with ramp or lift. Let them do a thorough check. Shake up everything lol. when I got mine I changed the steering ends, rack ends, upper cradle, spindle bearings.

I love my P11 , having owned it since it came to Trinidad some years ago . I can point out a few areas to be aware of .

1. Change your CVT fluid every year .
2. An SR20 equipped P11 is a heater , its not uncommon in a light shower to see steam from the surface of your bonnet . Improve your cooling system , proper working OEM fans and an aluminum radiator , after market thermostat , Zerex coolant or Shell glycoshell.
3. My vehicle came with 4 wheel disk brakes , if you do hard driving upgrade your rotors and be prepared to change them every few years.
4. Suspension repair every year on these roads , car handles very well , almost perfect balance in a corner , for those who can drive , highway bend at the limit , but needs those suspension checks.
5. Cleaning injectors is a bit of a pain as the valve cover needs to be removed.
6. Most P11 rust from the real panel or wheel well pay attention.

Not going to lie, I was thinking twice about it as previous owner only looked after the engine (very happy about that). Nothing else really so I've got some work to do body wise but I've grown to love the car.
Gotten quite a bit of info from the guys on here and yours too is greatly appreciated. The more I know about the car the better.

Anyone could give a review on using Valvoline in their Primera?
Edit: why I'm asking is because at cold start up i get an engine rattle for 3-5 seconds. Switched to Shell 20w-50 then that rattle started. Was told it's too thick for the hydraulic lifters to pump quickly and to switch back to a synthetic. Previous owner said NP Ultra but what viscosity?

The previous owner used the valvoline max life in my car. And I used that for more than a year. No problem. Going to change to shell 20w50 next weekend.

Hmm. Wonder if I'm the only one getting that cold start rattle with the Shell oil?

Thanks dude. Would like to know if it's my engine or the oil viscosity. It's weird because if i switch off and start it again.... no noise.

New info so far, spoke with Anil and he said the cold start rattle is normal and it's the chain tensioner losing tension. At least now i have something to go on. I'll go to him for the change. I have to ask how many tensioners does the SR20DE have? 1 or 2?

Need assistance with my P12.
QR20 engine and CVT tranny
Tranny keeps going into 'fail safe mode' and holding back after driving from Diego to El Socorro now.
Took it to Julien in Cunupia when I 1st bought it and replaced two speed sensors (one on top and below tranny) and it worked for a few minutes until I reach highway. (did diagnostic tests to detect these)
Only happens when I drive kinda fast.
The tech there said the cvt oil in good condition but wants to do a thorough check on the tranny.
Basically I want to know if any one had similar experience and what I should have them check.

highly unlikely that all the bulbs blow in the cluster - in addition you swapped out to another cluster to check and even swapped the ECU...and same issue.

i'm thinking it could be a simple things like a power or ground connector loose.

in my car the "eco" light NEVER worked...only after i swapped out the nose cut the straightener secured some ground connections properly in the engine bay and boom...eco light works -

dont over look the simple things.

My car is from garage to garage with same problem. Changed two sensors ($3k) and no change. All electrical wires checked and loaner TCM installed to see if any difference. Next check is the step motor to see if that works. Can't accept it's the tranny itself as it worked fine one day and dead the next. The joys of a 2003 car that has technology that locals still can't diagnose
