What's the deal here? my father who is buying a RORO Teana 230JM (Japan, not singapore) was told by the dealer to strictly use Premium.

However, based on my research, i'm almost 100% sure this car can use 87 RON aka super....now I don't have the vehicle booklet and won't have access to it till Saturday, so i'cant check it there.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

Your dealer is B/S'ing you.........minimum RON is 91 for the VQ23DE motor.........the VQ35DE motor however demands 95 RON

I have been using super in mine since the last premium price increase with no problems.........

Also the full service manual is available for download here 3rd Gen ('94) to 6th Gen-J31 Cefiro/Maxima Workshop Manual
