nothing more than 2.25 mandrel bent would be needed once u remain relatively stock, remeber you dont want the exhaust to flow too freely

thee max i'd go is 2.5 with some serious mods

BlueIce, believe it or not.. on the sr20 forums the ve guys use 3".. but that is with headwork, N1 cams etc..

^^^ Anyone ever did a back to back comparison?

I'm no expert but finding it hard to see a naturally aspirated 2 litre needing 3 inches from the headers.

I thought the SR20VE cams were unique and we'rent able to change to performance cams of a different profile, is this true or false?

That forum is hell! I dunno if it's just me but that's why I like RB forums people tend to give more solid info and are patient.

False The SR16 VE cam is an upgrade for the 20VE Cams. They have higher lobes *open to correction* the 16 VE revs higher than the 20.
Then there's the N1 cams as everyone would call it, (SR16VE N1), racing cams Highest lobes of the VE cams The SR16VE N1 redlines at 10,000 rpm

^^^ yea... put in the 2.5" unless in the case where ur gonna put n1 cams ...

if u have stock extractor an stock cams... use 2.5" max... but thaz jus my opinion...
i have 2.5" with extractors... and works very fine for me...
If i decide to go with n1 cams, i'll definitely put in 3" exhaust...

3" is overkill unless you spend the money to BUILD ur engine!!

you have to remember the guys who run thr 3" in the states are BUILDING most of there engine for performance....the dont put 3" on a relatively stock ve with bolt ons

the SR16 cams makes you loose a little power lower down untill the VVl kicks in. N1 is a different ball game

Depends on the quality of the exhuast barrel and if you have a mandrel bent exhuast. stay away from the cheap systems and you'll love it
