Clutch Master Cylinder Problems

Postby imperial » January 6th, 2012, 9:52 am

I recently installed a new ACT Extreme Pressure Plate with a 6 puck spring loaded Clutch disc. The problem I am having now is that I went through 2 Master Cylinders within a months time. The effort needed to disengage the clutch in a extreme p/p set up is too much for the cylinder to constantly push out.
Those guys who have a similar set up, what master cylinder are you using and how long does it last you???
Can afford to have another cylinder lose pressure on me again.

Thanks.

motorist has the oem clutch master an slave cylinder service kits, the other ting u should look at is making sure the inside of the master cylinder walls have not worn.

i had this problem before, as long as the master cylinder not holding the pressure u will get problems, if the the line has air u will get problems as well.

Had to resort to putting in a replacement cylinder, I think Seiken is the brand name. I changed out the pistons in both the master and slave when I installed it. But its been about a month and now the gears are a b!tch to go in after about a half hour of driving.
The master I got is the one with the brake bleeder at the top of the cylinder.
I will try to get the OEM from motorist and hope that it lasts.

the oem not that expensive, but im also wondering if maybe u have a leak elsewhere, is the clutch pedal losing pressure wen the gears giving trouble?

Checked out the whole system and found no leaks. At a cold start in the morning, the gears go in fine, but it tends to give trouble after. I just want to know what the xtreme pressure plate users have in their setup. So far I heard to use the OEM S15 or the OEM P11, and they not sounding easy to find or easy on the pocket for that matter!
