how long ago was that photo taken Moti?
There is a gas pipeline trench that was dug across the north track recently.
That strip cannot be used for racing at this time. The South track and the Circuit track have also been destroyed and roads and pavement built over it.

a couple months ago.

but really what has to be done has to be done i guess, but i really won't hold my breath for the present administration to do anything about motor sports.

Yes, I 've heard about the trackbite issue, the state that the track was left after an event etc. But at least for drags it may be just a simpler start if proper guidlines can be drawn up and adhered to.
Circuit, Drifting etc. facilities will fall in after.

Everyone knows that Karting and Rallying has some big players that fall in the "upper echelons of society" this may make it easier for these diciplines to continue.

MOST drag and drift men use their daily drivers and have no sponsers etc.

he meant to say, most who race on the street with "sports-up" "engine-"transplanted" vehicles, have no sponsors.

Interesting reading here and my only comment on the release from the MSYA – History repeating itself?

Referring to Moti’s pictures, which he says were taken a few months ago, is this really accurate? I took pictures of North and South about a year ago and I can tell that a lot of construction has taken place on the North side. (looking for them) And I am also advised that the North runway was dug up for gas lines to be laid, have no idea on how it is after this.

Many may be aware that ongoing discussions have been taking place with TTASA and MATT with an Arbitrator, and this we were advised must be kept confidential until completed.

And there are some who have been continually making approaches to the Authorities to permit staging of events at certain locations. We saw TTASA getting through with this at the Larry Gomes Stadium recently and other initiatives are continuing.

Now some of us have the patience to continue to fight for the cause in our own dignified manner, others have their own “stlyeâ€

maybe we can use this Facebook Group as a show of interest/pressure group into this project

let the authorities see how many ppl are in support of this facility

Media Release

Government Moves to Give Motor Sports a Home

Government is continuing its efforts towards ensuring that motor sports have a home. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSYA) recently got the go ahead from Cabinet to hire consultants to develop a master plan and conduct a feasibility study on 65 acres of land at Orange Valley, Waterloo Carapichaima for the development of a Motor Sport Facility. This is in keeping with MSYA’s Sport for All objective and the Vision 2020 Report on Youth Sport and Recreation.

The process is aimed at examining the viability of establishing a motor sport facility on the site, and thoroughly test whether the proposed project is practical in relation to the needs assessment, management options, the range of services to be offered, technical design options, risk assessment, cost and recommendations for investment.

Terms of Reference for Consultancy Services have already been developed by the Ministry. Procurement of a consultant is now on the way. This project is being managed by the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago.

-END-

For enquiries about the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs please contact Ms. Arlene Gorin-George at 625-8874 ext. 5018.

the big difference between this disgusting elections gimmick & last night's platform announcement by the Peoples' Party is that last night's statement says without a Doubt that motor racing will be given back their home, the lands THAT WERE DENIED TO MOTOR RACING WILL BE GIVEN BACK & WITHIN ONE MONTH, RACING WILL RESUME IN T&T.
.
I KNOW HOW i VOTING......yes the single issue that makes that difference to me.
