It's like reinventing the wheel due to the amount of custom stuff that needs to be built for it to work just right with the VVT-i.

To be honest though, I'm kinda disappointed in the little amount of attention paid to the engine bay.

But that car MUST pull like a b!tch, and NA is so awesome.

That was mid installation.......its much different now.....

last dyno pull was 181 (with about 170 ft/lb torque).....you have to see this car launch out to understand how it surprises Turbo cars...

Ras, you don't know how much I want to install one of those in my current car.
But alas, I just can't find the courage to get rid of the 4AGE.

170 you say, wow that WILL pull like a b!tch after all.

Banzai

Having owned an altezza don't ever get rid of the stock airbox on that beams motor.

You loose so much torque and mid range without it. Get the trd filters if u can.

Try to keep the intake pipe length the same as stock if it's not. I battled with Apexi, hks and greddy intakes and the stock was by far the best results. The 3SGE AFM is so sensitive to air turbulence the aftermarket air filters cause more harm than anything in low and mid range rpm. Up top aftermarket will have benefits. But not worth the poor drivability imho

whats some known problems with ke70 vehicles?
besides the known rust problem, what can i check before i purchase one for a project?
im seeing them for pretty reasonable prices (under 10k) and its rwd
i can get a ae86 diff for the rear and some type of suspension mods easy.

Techno Toy Tuning also has suspension upgrades for the KE70 and similar chassis.
Also has parts for the 4AGE & AE86 so you basically covered.

As for problems with the KE70 locally; once the body is sound you good to go more or less.
You won't really care for drive train as you have plans to upgrade it anyway.

All you need is the 20V 4AGE and a T50 box, can even use the Charmant T40 if your'e in a hurry.
People b!tch about the 20V and fitment for the dizzy and water lines, truth be told it can be done by either of the following:

> Cut a hole in the firewall to accommodate the dizzy
> Massage the firewall with a hammer to "make" more room
> Bring the entire engine forward by 2 inches and you lengthen propeller shaft

Either way, they are great engines for that chassis.

Techno Toy Tuning has some excellent parts from what i just saw online, Ill look into buying one and then posting back, body is a major problem tho, most i saw are rusted buckets and would take too much to get back into a order. Looking for something reasonable.

With cars like that, expect to get what you paid for.

Sad reality but true.
Olivia was rotted in the rear, and I only paid $4K for her.
Thing is the rust was hiding.

Run through the car properly when looking, the place on the highway next to Chief brand has a foreign charmant that you can also looking onto those and use that shell for spares.
Or do the unmentionable..............
