Just a regular 3 with AC Schnitzer ecu and aero.
What's the benefit of replacing entire ECU vs a software remap to the stock one?

Main reason is warranty. Here is what ACS said:
"AC Schnitzer performance upgrades offer a unique solution to boosting your car's performance while retaining warranty cover on your car. Every AC Schnitzer performance upgrade delivers a substantial performance increase and comes with a 2 year* warranty from AC Schnitzer on the engine and drivetrain to run alongside your BMW warranty. Furthermore, because AC Schnitzer performance upgrades are based on hardware, and not a software "remap", you can have your car serviced and updated at your main dealer as usual without fear of data loss."

I believe warranty. here is what ACS had to say:

Hear nah.....It have a different kinda fuel in Trini that I dont know about or something?
These cars OEM ecu come with mapping to support 98-100ron and what we have is nowhere close to that, but yet you guys putting "performance" upgraded ecus to add insult to injury??
Is it that you ordering this ecu with a custom tune therefore actually de-tuning the car to suit 95ron and our hot climate to make it safe and not ping its nuts off?
I loss???
Oh....and how the hell you could upgrade an ECU based on hardware and not software to start with??

The cars come from the factory set up to run on 95. Also new maps don't need 98-100 RON. New maps can improve performance on 95. The hardware he speaks of is a new physical ECU but it has different software loaded.

meanwhile, 'experts' bragging about getting horsepower gains from increasing octane via liqui stuff in a 12 oz bottle.....
