dude I real enjoy the hidden treasures u been posting
nothing quite meets the thrill of stumbling across a nice old car that hasn;t seen the open road for many a year
I used to live for that stuff until I got fed up of the idiots who feel they have Barrett Jackson cars

old man aint realise the unrestored state would fetch bout US$985.99 if he's lucky, normal thing with people and old cars, they would just have it rottening there and refuse to sell to someone who really wants to restore it, or call one crazy high price that the poor man like me can't afford :roll:

you'd think after designing the 1200 adn 1600 they would keep a good thing gonig but noooooooooo.........some bambam gone an draw dis biskwankaaay egg lookin ting :|
how is it even comprehensive that the same company that gave the world the 240Z came up with that piece ah crap.....

it really was a Japanese designer...forgot his name but he was known as Mr. Z
Not so much outsourced as influenced by the brits......
thing is, as bigchief said, when u look at the british cars around when the 240 was launched, it says a lot about the brit car industry.
The MGB had a dinky 90bhp engine that was 20 years old, based on 10 year old technology...the parent company, British Leyland was split between GM execs and Triumph execs....and both sides were clueless...MG was holding on to the B and Triumph had the TR7....in the mentime Datsun launched a cheap sportscar with a reliable 120bhp and proper suspension....did I mention RELIABLE?
