it depends................

the law specifies the use of a registration plate and on it the vehicle registration number is seen only, but it does not specify the specific location of attachment just that it is clearly affixed to the front of the vehicle.....

so a sticker with your reg. no. on the bonnet is illegal, but your reg. no. on a plate on the bonnet is not.

yup this sucks..............

No.
A reg number sticker once black on white background or white on black background affixed to the front of the car is legal. A tuner won this case a couple years ago.

Was wondering about this number plate issue. I heard it suppose to be below the headlights. Not sure how true.

Probably need to get the exact law for it. Could look into it. Word for word.

Do a search. A thread was already created on this topic and the link to the relevant law was given in the thread.

this law has been long ammended. once the reg. no. is not on a plate, it's a ticket you looking for.

all you know-it-alls test the law and see......

Look the link to the thread there.

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=355978&hilit=TriniGT+number+plate

Excerpt from Clause 9 of updated Law.
The plates forming the identification mark shall be fixed, one on the front and the other on the back of the motor vehicle or trailer, in an upright position, so that every letter or figure onthe plate is upright and easily distinguishable, in the case of the plate placed on the front of the motor vehicle or trailer from in front of the motor vehicle or trailer, and in the case of the plate placed on the back, from behind the motor vehicle or trailer.

If the registration plate is a sticker on the bonnet, then it is highly unlikely that it is mounted in an upright position. You would therefore be in contravention of the Law.
