need some advice....4G15 twin cam problem...

Postby ron_28 » July 1st, 2014, 1:23 pm

Good day tuners

So here is my problem,
Have a 4G15 dohc in my ck with a 5fwd gear box
when im driving the car kinda misses an sometimes smokes a lit,
the car doesn't loose much power it still pulls good, an once the car picks up speed
it pulls normal an sounds normal.

Mechanic told me plug wires an distributor cap,

i have changed the plugs, wires, cap an problem is still there

i have noticed oil on spark plug #2

Could this problem be the head gasket?

Make sure that the plug wires are not jumping back out. Sometimes the substitute dont fit as snug as the original.

Get a compression test done on the cylinders to see if they holding pressure. if not, rings going is a possibility.

Possibly the seal between the tappet cover is bad and allows oil to go into the plug chamber.
