Cruze Make Over

Postby subzeroracing » February 15th, 2017, 2:52 pm

First time posting any sort of thread, so bear with me while i put my thoughts together. i have owned this cruze since 2012, 1.8 engine with the side skirt package. for my money at the time, to me it was the best deal in relation to what the other Dealers were offering at the time. Always thought about doing something extra but time and money was always against me unitl Dec 2016. One my way outta Point Fortin, while passing thru the Old Oilfield roads, my brakes failed and i ran into another car.

After going back and forth with insurance, i was given a settlement which was half the price quoted for parts. Good thing that i can get these parts online, so i went about bringing in the Front Bumper, Fog lamps, Headlights, Powerstop brake kit and I decided to step up a little and start with a suspension drop. I chose a Spring from a German Manufacturer called Vogtland. I have read some good reviews on that brand online and decided that i should purchase.

My painter started the work to straighten the hood and prep the car while parts came in.

The Brakes and Suspension were the last parts to come in.

The rims where also painted to change up the look a little. Subtle and Simple. Once done it was off to get it aligned to make sure everything was straight.

and here it is.

as time goes on, i am looking to add a cold air intake, 4-1 extractors and a full 2.5 exhaust. will post pics as things go along.

This looks great. I enjoyed looking at the transformation. I always liked the look of these cars too.

Worn rotor discs caused brakes to fail? Interesting. But good job with all the planning and coordinating in bringing it back.

I think I should have been clearer. When I meant 'fail' I think I should have started that the brakes didn't hold as they should have under normal circumstances.

I guess when you cleared the 2nd hump, you weren't expecting the other one.

Is the body shop located at the corner of Bypass Road?

Some updated shots of the new shocks and wheel set. Also changed out the stock radio for an Alpine stereo. Added an Air Fuel Ratio and Water Temp Guage. Next install is an Oil Pressure guage, aftermarket steering wheel and full exhaust make over.
