LIL WONDER ???????

Fellas i looking to put together a 1 amp system. Particularly a using a 5 channel, since it go power the full range speakers i install and which are rated at 60rms. Now i been wondering btw 3 amps. they is d lil wonder 1000.5, rubicon 800.5 or a phoenix gold 5 channel. Anyways my question is this i been hearing that the lil wonder 1000.5 is be overheating, tripping, cutting off and all that especially when u playing it under normal power and not jamming it. and even when u jamming it overheating etc.

there any fact to it or is it just talk and d lil wonder standing up to its name. because if all of overheating and thing taking place is better i spend extra and buy the rubicon for $2000 or the phoenix gold for $1900. alot of my friends telling me to buy the lil wonder as its in my budget. however hearing how the lil wonder is tripping etc, i thinking to go with the rubicon or d phoenix gold even though it go stretch me a lil too much.

what are yall thoughts?????????

i installed a lil wonder 4.620(black) with 2 pairs of HF zeus components and an mtx 12" tc512(5500) in a friend's car......sounds good for sum small knock...clean...

i also own a 4.580(silver)...

they NEVER tripped or overheated with me....

for the price, you can't go wrong...that is if you want a brand new amp...

not sure about the 5 channel..never used one...

the 4 channel may be able to power the system you want to run...

give me some details of the speakers...

what you heard bout the lil wonders are correct.
when a factory produces amplifiers x% will give trouble that is not the users fault.
for cheaper amplifiers that % is much higher

i would try and find a kicker zx7005, or go with the phoenix gold
or search around for a used crossfire vr705, or a mtx thunder 895, or a directed d2205,
saying that one of these amps will play twice as loud as that lil wonder is not an overstatement

so true....they are rather powerless.....just for small knock....

forgot to mention that the Mtx 12" i used was single 4 ohm btw...

the speakers are RE 6" full range coaxials rated @ 60 rms and the sub is a RE 8" rated at 175 rms.

never had none of those problems with the lil wonders, whether 2 or 3 models, and 2,4, and 5 channels, they work very good, and require only 12 v compared to other brands that require 13-15 volts

if you have the budget look at the jl audio xd series 5 channel amp or even the hd 5 channel

full range class d
more efficient than all the amps suggested above
installs easily under a front seat due to its compact size

comparison on size
the hd series is about 1/4 the size of the directed 2205 doing the same power ouput using less current

the new lil wonder and them sorry to say but they no good,opened one and it make up like a boss amp, i was like what the a**.that jl audio amp real clean and nice,u could also consider a us amp ax5600.playing at 500x1 at 1 ohm on the sub channel and 90x4 at 2ohm, in my opinion i have used this already and quality like wow,great amp for a small system.

btw, new 5ch amps coming this summer, about the same size as the jl amps.
The rockford is the smallest.

polk audio D5000.5- class D , 6.5" x 1.8" x 13", 70 x 4 + 380 x1 @ 4ohm and 115 x 4 + 400 x 1 @ 2ohm, 500 @ 1 ohm. Got the specs from them directly. it not on their site as yet. Not sure when it will make it to market.

Had d 4.620 and the 1.800 mono without problems. D mono does run a lil hotter than normal but never trip o anyting.

honestly, the best lil wonder was probably the lil wonder 2.

I did a direct swap with a SS lil wonder and a RF Punch once and the difference between the two amps was crazy! Not in terms of loudness, but in terms of quality! I never expected to hear such a difference..

The RF sounded more bright / transparent. Much 'cleaner' if you wish..
