That's a great price point compared to the Bit.One and the MS-8.

You'd need the controller for it. (extra $250 US)
Even AI-Net head units will not be able to fully control it (only volume)
There is a USB connection however, so you can apparently tune with a PC.

There's a "Source" button on the controller as well.

I wonder what sources it can switch.

.

PRECISELY

Take a look at the w910.

Its supposed to be able to control it, as the H800 is mentioned as an add-on.

Previously, all the double din units or, units with a touch screen display, allowed full control of the H701, although, the later models only did so in a text style menu, whereas the older models had a much better gui.

Source button will allow you to use the other optical input, or the other analog input (if so equipped), and use the volume knob on the remote as the main volume knob.

Another thing mentioned on some forums is that the H800 optical connection is not standard toslink. Apparently it is a proprietary optical connection.

Well that sucks. Getting specific cable lengths are going to be a beyotch.

Thats for now.

Even the older W505 needed a weird cable.

Cables can be bought from amazon or crutchfield. No sweat. And with optical, just make a nice big loop and tuck it away someplace. Its not like its going to pick up noises or degrade in signal.

RE is releasing some new amps, a lower series than the XTv3 line

Image

no offense but if this line is lower than the XTv3 and this is the guts inside a XT v3 1600.2 well

Indeed, jeff did the rotor lights on my car with fiber optics on the rotors...some classy work I might add. It will fit in well with your plans for the C class, Sulls.

H800 is indeed looking bess.

Alpine 8 inch type R sub-woofer
SWR-0823D & SWR-0843D

Expanding on its already extensive array of subwoofer offerings, Alpine is adding 8-inch models to its Type-R subwoofer line. Proving that power can come in small packages, these new subwoofers will create opportunities for creative installation options.
At only 4.5 inches deep and 8 inches in diameter, the new Type-R 8-inch subwoofers (SWR-0823D and SWR-0843D) are ideal for cramped quarters. Ideal for installation in door panels, trucks, or other tight spaces, the 8-inch subwoofers use technologies found in Type-R subwoofers and incorporate them in a smaller package. The 8-inch subwoofers have over 14mm of linear excursion for high output in small ported or sealed enclosures and handle up to 350W RMS.

you know i was wondering the same thing, at least the VLX line of amps is here to stay and growing. I find those are way better than the xt series. Supposed to be getting the new models anytime now at the store, so we will see.

Came across a post from an alpine rep that spoke on the control of the W910 over the H800.

Ai-Net Connection to INA-W910 - Preset, sub Level and Balance/Fader

Dais it.
