it all depends on what vehicle this going in , certain designs will load better depending on d vehicles acoustics

some ppl swear by single chamber boxes some say it doesnt really matter

separated chambers have a "divider" piece of wood so d enclosure is more rigid , single chamber will take up a little less space though

1 serious disadvantage common chamber design is if 1 sub fails for whatever reason then it comes like d other sub (subs) will be playing in a bigger amount of cuft & can cause d sub\s to bottom out or over exert , with separated u wont have that happening

A&D is like d same ting except being separated

B&C kind of d same except d same amt of port area is pretty much divided into 2 ports

a simple test for D & E u can simply make 2 separate boxes & put them together so port is together in d middle or try port on opposite ends & u judge which sounds better to u ...

I would say D

because 1. it has a brace for better rigidity
2. it has 3 radiating areas (the 2 ports close together is basically one port)

more radiating areas mean more phase issues, I am open to correction

Photo showing on my PC.. I can't seem to find the direct link for the image, apparently tuner has some image software that helps display the image. Try a different browser, I am using Chrome.

My interpretation..

A - the single large port is too close to the back wall, suppose to be at least the port diameter away from it.

B - subs are different distances from the end port, equidistant suppose to be better, but I not certain of the science on why. I suspect it may cause some kind of interference inside the enclosure.

C - two subs in a common chamber sharing the same air space. I believe nigel1977 had some concerns about this at one time w.r.t. the volume of air each sub will actually see..

D & E are identical except for port location. Can't really comment on phasing issues (cancellation etc) between them because that would depend on enclosure mounting location, vehicle size / shape etc.

I'd got with D or E, for the reasons previously mentioned

Assuming the drawings are not done to scale, i'd go with A but maybe i'll flare the port.
