I need some help wiring speakers.

Postby blood » December 17th, 2013, 11:21 pm

I have a DB Drive (A5-125.4) amp powering four Faital Pro midrange speakers with each rated at 130rms , they are 8 ohms. The specs of the amp are as follows - • 4 x 125 Watts @ 4 Ohm
• 4 x 200 Watts @ 2 Ohm
• 2 x 300 Watts @ 4 Ohm Bridged

The amp is bridged bringing the resistance of each pair to 4 ohms because i hooked them up parallel. I would like to hook up a pair of Power Acoustik NB-1 tweeters rated at 100rms at 4 ohms. I would like to know if this can be done ? If it could be done i would like some info as to how to wire them please. Thanks.

Hmmm...it depends...u can parallel all four speakers on two diff channels, and run a tweeter each on the other two channels, but that will be severely under powering the faitals. U really kinda limited, unless I missing something that somebody else seeing

Run the amp in tri mode ,that is parallel two of the fatal s and run it bridged and run one tweeter off one ch . I don't think those nb1 like a lot of power as well as too low frequencies so make sure an have a good crossover on it

Run a pair of Faital on a pair of channels bridged. They will see 300 watts (150 each), parallel them to get a 4 ohm load. Win-win situation there.

if you could, put an appropriate condenser on the nb1's and power them off the deck. They get loud with very little power.
