of course it not moving. It's a Toyota thread. Us owners don't have problems so no need to spam up a thread with ol' talk.

Any one has a picture of the evaporator from a Toyota LN166 or LN167, and what price for it? I feel mine going and want to be prepared when I take it down.

Have a hilux with a 5L EFI, at idle, it is smoking white and smelling like kerosene. It goes away when driving, comes back at idle. No performance issues.

Any thoughts on what it could be?

It is a pretty good engine. It comes in cable throttle or electronic throttle. Power range from about 138 to 145 for the intercooled versions.

I think that is has a lot of low-end torque.

The big cons, it have an aluminum cylinder head, and any defect in the cooling system, it will damage it.

A used engine price is from 15K upwards.

The issue is the mating on the engine to the rest of the drive train.

I adapter plates are readily available, it would be awesome!

I am only allowed this one for now, full 4X4, LSD in the back and lunchbox in front with free wheel hubs.

Working on the surf to get it at least to full 4X4 and hold off there.

So I went in the diff, the needle bearing was the culprit. A few of the needles had froze in position and the inner CV was wearing its diameter. So I had to change the bearing and the CV.
This is what the bearing looked like.

Well, since I had to remove the entire diff, I went down Penal and picked up a lunch box locker.

I had also brought in some hubs and front disks, end up changing the hubs only and skimmed the rotors from the vehicle.

The outstanding item is the LSD for the back, went down Navet, but he did not have any, so if anybody know of one, let me know.

I my self going to replace the shocks, ends and joints soon. Just looking for a se of tires at the moment. Just need to decide which brand shocks I going with. What you all recommend oil and gas shocks? thinking about the KYB Excel-G.
Also i have been getting reoccurring issues with the clock spring on the 2008 Hilux 4x2.

If you interested, go with quality off road shocks one time. ARB old man emu absorbers and springs, Bilstein absorbers and springs or Eibach Springs. TBH, I am not sure on the cost differential between OEM replacement vs Original vs Off road after market, but if you can go with the off road, so so. Ride quality will be improved and you can be set up to tackle some pretty tough terrain.
