Info on corolla tranny

have a 5afe in the car with 4 speed tranny. the tranny giving some problems. have a 5af 4 speed tranny, want to know if it will work on the 5afe engine. the 5af tranny has 4 wires on the selector + 2 on the side, the 5afe tranny has 2 on the side + 9 on the selector.
has anyone heard of this being done and if it works ?

any help would be greatful.

Should work,just use back the neutralizing switch from the first tranny :idea:

Use back the selector''neutralizing switch'' witch you took off the first tranny, it should bolt back up in the same place with no modification needed, If not PM HOOK for better advice or check ah good mechanic

well the selector from the 5afe work on the 5af tranny and it bolt up on the engine normal. did not drive it as yet, so i don't know how it pullin. but i think the 5afe tranny could work on the 20v, so i guess the 5af tranny should work to, but i dont think it i could handle that kind of speed to long. :wink:
