Hi Guys. My corolla Altis may need a new 3zz engine. What other toyota engine can be substituted for the the 3zz without conversion?

Well look @ this. same position here as my altis 1.6 3zzfe needs a new motor.
Called around and visited a few places for the motor. Bicks in Penal recommended a 1zzfe motor and wants for the cheapest, $8000 for head and block alone and the place next door in the same compound wants $10000 for head and block alone and $14000 for a complete motor. A mechanic was at the site and explained to me that from his experience of rebuilding altis motors, it would cost you alot cheaper which would set you back by about $5000.
They, the Bicks workers informed me that the 1zzfe 1.8 motor would be replaced bolt for bolt and wire for wire. However my mechanic informed me that the ECU/brain of the car is already mapped for a 1.6 motor and would need remapping.
Phoned D&D Autos world and they want $23000 for the complete motor and Gazali @ Chariville doesn't have the motor.
Will update the post when I visit Bamboo tomorrow.

Bought back a 3zz for the car. Paid $16000.00 complete without transmission from Island Motors in the bamboo. Car coming back in my hands, parking up the bimmer for the while.
Bushmaster, best you go back original. If not, let us know the what motor you installed and if there were any modifications necessary.
