good choice, Tranny Issues........yes ive heard and even changed one for a customer last week, cost him 15K tranny alone. When asked if he ever changed the oil he said no. Oil was black like the night.

Very good vehicle, good on gas, nice quality ride, and you would love the cvt how it pulls and responds

Key thing to note, change your tranny oil on time and use Original Toyota Oil.

Thanks striver, so is it that the tranny builds up more heat than other trannys because they are sealed resulting in the oil to break down and causing the clutches to burn causing the oil to look black in colour ?

no cause it has no gear changing system as the normal auto trannies.

they made it sealed for a reason, so that you cannot add any other fluid to it.

In a cvt tranny if you add any other type of oil besides the recommended cvt oil your tranny will fail.

that's why alot of people out there have failing cvt's, because mechanics are adding the wrong type of oil

If cvt's were so bad then why are most manufacturers having them on their cars now.

it has a steel belt which rotates on two pullies creating intense heat and breaking down the oil faster.

recommended tranny oil change if you drive hard or aggressive max i would say 20km

if you granny your car abt 30 to 35 km.

hence the reason i say use only toyota cvt oil
