Yo that explains alot, appreciate it. You know if 2nd gen 4AFE has a knock sensor by chance?Ronaldo95163 wrote:zorced wrote:Hey guys, looking all over for 2nd gen 4AFE Factory Service Manual.
Trying diagnose trouble codes 24 and 52... The only manual I found online only has up to code 51 so it's probably not the same version.
Boyyy this is the hardest thing to find...will check through my docs and see if I have anything.
Documentation on these A series (non-GE) engines kinda hard to find in general.black start wrote:Then get some aftermarket rods and pistons and keep the compression high
Been looking into this also. Stock ECU can handle this?
Still googling around to see what other folks are running and what success they're having.

locorolla wrote:Mark007, concerning your "hunting" problem.....provided that you have serviced the throttle body, using a clean air filter, cleaned injectors, using good plugs and good plug wires, checked all your power and ground wires to/from the battery, set the distributor and the TPS to the proper angle, cleaned the in-tank fuel filter, changed the charcoal filter, checked your ECU to make sure it is not damaged in any way (burnt board or burnt components on the board)..........your problem is more than likely either the a/c step unit up that needs adjusting or your ECU may need to be reset and properly tuned.
Don't tighten the cable to do the throttle adjustment...I believe there is a small bolt that adjusts the throttle rest position when you take your foot off the accelerator... Do the adjustment there. That wouldn't some a hunting problem but will make it difficult for the engine to cut out due to low revsMark007 wrote:locorolla wrote:Mark007, concerning your "hunting" problem.....provided that you have serviced the throttle body, using a clean air filter, cleaned injectors, using good plugs and good plug wires, checked all your power and ground wires to/from the battery, set the distributor and the TPS to the proper angle, cleaned the in-tank fuel filter, changed the charcoal filter, checked your ECU to make sure it is not damaged in any way (burnt board or burnt components on the board)..........your problem is more than likely either the a/c step unit up that needs adjusting or your ECU may need to be reset and properly tuned.
Thanks for the advice. Was also told that tightening the x-cable to idle a bit higher would help...especially if everything else fails.
