Not a clacking but I heard other makes of cars making the same noise especially nissans. I don't hear it all the time only very rarely. I am the type of person who likes to have my car up to par, any little thing I tend to want to have it sorted out ASAP...like I said to noise it a bit difficult to put in words..but thanks anyways

Are you talking about pinking/pinging. Sounds like pennies bouncing around inside the cylinders... Usually caused by low octane fuel or when persons up their compression ratio by skimming the head.

Regarding the brakes... Did they machine the whole face of the rotor or just removed that lip on the edge. Have you bedded them in.

Thats probably what I'm taking about....I'm not sure if its the whole face of the rotor or just the lip on the edge the machined but I would like to believe its the whole face.

Anyone know what kinda bulbs the fog lights does use?
Seeing some Kits like this but for H11.

Price not bad either...would save plenty time compared to wiring it up from scratch too

pin(k)ing could be caused by

1) too advanced timing..
2) alot of carbon buildup causing pre ignition
3) bad gas

Woa where dibbles located?
Btw I see you have rear discs on yours...

You changed the proportioning valve/master cylinder?
Mine running gt brakes all round but the pedal drop real low...still cant find the prop valve to this day to install it...was wondering if it brought the pedal back up or if I have to change the master cylinder to a bigger bore too.

I Have a vr4 1 inch cylinder with the same bolt up but I not sure if it would be too big.
Didnt want to change it until I find the proportioning valve

The mileage in the AE110/111 corollas are they in miles or kms? Are some cars meaning other brands have their mileage in miles and some in kms or is there like a certain standard for certain countries?

Booster change already. Just with the rear disc brakes and the upgraded front, the pedal dropped and the brakes got spongy. Carried it for some hard runs after I did the overhaul...braking fast from >100kmph kinda sketchy.
Bigger MC should fix this but I kinda want to do everything one time (prop valve, brake lines, pads etc)

All cars down here are in km. I know Aussies use kms as well. Maybe Europe as we share the same units as them.
Americans use miles and all the other stupid units...because well...Americans retarded lol

AUTO ELECTRICIAN NEEDED...Hey guys I am becoming frustrated with an annoying electrical problem I am getting with my car. Before at random times the clock would blank out and if the AC is on (which is like 95% of the times for me) it would also stop blowing cold air and just blow air, this would last about a few seconds sometimes then other times it would last longer 2 minutes all up to 5 minutes. This problem would continuously at random times and then it would work great like nothing was wrong. It was an annoying problem but was a bit tolerable....until recently to the point the problem has become unbearable. Now the clock is blanking off for a longer period which is somehow also causing the AC to not blow cold air and it is staying blanked out for as long 15 minutes to an hour to not even bothering to come back on or blow cold air. If I switch off the car and start it back the clock would come on and the AC would blow cold for a little while then blank off and no cold air. Can someone please give me some advice or point me in the direction of someone who can help. Thank you guys in advance.

You got the problem fixed?
Sounds like the panel itself. If that playing up then it could be turning off the AC, leaving the blower on alone because the AC button on that panel itself too.

BTW anybody know what this PCB for?
Found it behind the cap on the review mirror bracket. Had a connector connected to it which runs up into the ceiling.

Well kinda...my mechanic told me when he checked behind the center panel and did some tests the circuit board or whatever you called that part would spark. He solder back the connections on the circuit board and right after hooking back up everything the problem happened again. So I ended up getting a foreign used one, I just have to hook it up now....however the irony of it is that now the problem haven't really happened so far....well at least its not noticed. So I don't know if the solder job does fuse better overtime making it work better now.... So that is the update to the issue.

Ronaldo95163 You said you got your mud/spash guards from ebay. I recently purchased a set as well. How did you go about installing yours, did you have to drill any holes?

Yaa had to drill underneath by the two front fenders and the back bumper to secure it into place.

Is it possible to get a key made for your doors etc if you don't have the original key?

Since i swapped doors to the GT I never bothered to swap the locks (laziness) and well I sold the doors with them on it.

So I really have no way of entering the car if the battery died and the alarm stops working as a result

Also I bought me one of those key barrel surround lights which came out of a Carib, after going through the hastle of running the necessary wiring for it, the steering column cover wont fit completely over it.

Turns out I need a tumbler like this:
Image

Image

Not the one the car came fatory with:

Image

But don't want to have a bunch of extra keys just to open the door, trunk and start the car :x
If it's possible to get 1 key made to open everything that would be good

Hi guys, we had three ae111's, two were locals and the other was a roro. All were equipped with the updated and last iteration of the 4A-FE engine. We also had an ae101 with the 5A-FE engine as well. I saw a lot of references made to compare these motors with the Nissan QG15/16/18 earlier in this thread and in my humble opinion, it was unfair to compare these older Toyota engines to this newer line of Nissan engines. A more fair comparison would be the Nissan GA line of engines. GA15DE to 5A-FE and GA16DE to 4A-FE. The very rare 7A-FE motor afaik was not a JDM spec motor but found it's way in the USDM. That 7A should be compared to the SR18DE. The black top GA16DE NVTCS would be superior to the 4A-FE. In terms of longevity/reliability and fuel economy, the Toyota engines win. With the onset of the 1NZ-FE, a QG15DE doesn't stand a chance and the 3ZZ-FE got superiority over the QG16DE. This continues with the 1ZZ-FE over the QG18DE and SR18DE. USDM AE11x Corolla sedans got 1ZZ motors in its final production run. Anyone wishing to get more power from their E11x chassis better stick a 4A-FE or head straight to 1ZZ. I wish I can get my hands on a local Corolla GLi sedan with a PBK/PBL/PBM registration which were the last 1.6 ae111 sedans TTTL ever imported. If I ever see a stock/original one for sale, I'll pounce on it. Laterz guys.
