The car Toyota is selling as the Toyota Rush is actually a Daihatsu (a subsidiary of Toyota) made vehicle, especially for the south-east Asian market. It is sold as the Daihatsu Terios.
There is no such car as yet in the Japanese Used-car market, both as Toyota Rush nor Diahatsu Terios.
It is a bit confusing, as the previous model Toyota Rush, was also sold and made by Daihatsu as the BeGo. (The Terios was a different shape). Anyway the Rush/BeGo was a deadhorse and poor handler/ride.
The engine is a 1500cc 2NR engine that Toyota is now using in the gasoline driven Axio and Fielder. The engine has less horsepower than the good ole' 1NZ. Something like 77 HP. Too, it is possible that if the engine is made by Daihatsu, the block will be steel instead of aluminium.
Toyota sells it as a seven-seater.
For those who looking for a similar Toyota seven-seater Ro-Ro, there is the Sienta. Same engine (aluminium block though) in either gasoline only or Hybrid. The Sienta is lower, but ugly the same, and you can get two power sliding doors.
Toyota Trinidad is advertising the Rush as TT$247,000. You have lots of other choices for that money. A brand new Ro-Ro Honda Vezel RS Hybrid costs less, albeit a 5-seater.
Too, the lil car dey sellin' with a 1,000cc engine for $125,000 is also a Daihatsu car.....the Agya, with different names depending where it is sold.
Peace.
