Mitsubishi l200 2011 transmission abrupt changing

So I have a l200 2011 with a problem when shift in to reverse the hear bangs in or changes abruptly causing the entire vehicle to rock . All other gears change smoothly. u1102 asc can timeout not equipped is the fault code ,no check light is on
