Issues with JDM boss kit on a local car

Postby turbo_beast369 » December 19th, 2010, 6:10 pm

has anyone ever tried installing a JDM spec non airbag boss kit on a local non airbag car?

the problem I'm having is that when I tried installing the JDM boss kit it wasnt sliding in the spline at all so I measured it with my caliper and saw that the steering shaft on my car is slightly larger so it cant fit...anyone ever encountered this problem and knows where I could find a boss kit that would fit my steering shaft..btw I'm using a MOMO steering and the car is a local CS3 (non airbag)

the spline connection is the most important part. u want that to grip the inside of the boss kit. I would get another boss kit. check Ontheinside on the forums to see if he has one that will work for you. You can mod any other part of the boss kit but this part. the other mods are to get the indicators and horn to work. I tried to get one from foreign used parts places and they would only sell it to me with the wheel. Bobby's in the bamboo might have they sell a brand called hkb sports.... momo also tells you which ones will work with your application. for instance i think mine is 6106 for the momo branded ones for a ck4.

Good luck.
