Mitsu "downfall" is lack of models. Especially locally.....

Last Galant was what? 1997-2002? Then they had the US model and that was that. Galant Fortis for Japan which is basically a Lancer.

I think their line up is a bit boring TBH. Plus is about time the Lancer gets a true facelift at least. Not just smoked taillights and chrome bezel around the front grill.

The CY look is dated now, the model hasn't changed since 2007 as well as it's features; lack of 6 airbags, 95+ron, CVT, basic interior, etc.

The 2.0 CY is priced as a Galant at $269 for the GT auto. They carry the same features cept can take Super.

In comparison the seemingly puny 1.6 Elantra and Cerato takes 91 ron and are feature packed; 6fwd automatic (not cvt) paddle shifters, cruise control, traction control, modern interior and exterior, etc

Mitsu and DM are just not keeping current. Sorry to only compare the Lancer but the ASX is a dead brand and the Sportero still remains the same when the Hilux, Ranger, Dmax, BT50, even the Wingle has had facelifts.

Mitsubishi is also set to exit the US market this year. Very little for almost a premium price.

Sounds like a very good time to buy more US Evo 8-9 engine & drivetrain spares for my car(s).

IMHO they'll regroup, trim expenses, redesign and eventually return. Too much at stake ($$$$) to quit the US forever.
If not, they may focus on the rapidly expanding Chinese (& African) markets... Less CAFE regulations and MORE PROFITS!
