EVO VII Problem!!

Hey guys I'm having a hopefully minor problem with my Evo VII, hope you guys can help. I have been wanting to try an octane booster in the car for some time. I got advice that its best to run the gas tank to almost empty before filling up and using the booster.

I entered the gas station with the gas light on, upon entering the car cut off. I was thinking that I was just in time to fill up. I filled up and started the car which drove for approximately 3 m then cut off again.

I restarted and from that point the car would only cut off when I came to an idling position. The engine check light then came on, once I'm running no problems, once I come to an idling position.... cut off.

I now no longer have the problem of the car cutting off but the check light remains on. I did a diagnostics and it came up that the EGR sensor was bad. I have since changed that. The check light then came off for 10 mins then was back on again.

I am now led to believe that I have a problem with the fuel filter or pump.
I believe that the fuel filter is located in the gas tank with the pump, am I correct?

Can the filter and pump serviced or do u have to change the entire assembly?

If it can where can I go to service it??

Yes the filter is a little cloth bag attached to the pump. I would just change the whole assembly to a walbro unit. But thais just me.

Probably because you ran the tank extremely low...

The filter on the pump must have had a hard time with all the "dregs" that were in the bottom of the tank...

Take CBH advice and change the pump and filter, since the pump might have been damaged from running it low...

You can get a drop in replacement 255lph walbro from Gerrad/W2J on the forum...

Regards...

wrong. that cloth bag is actually the strainer. the fuel filter is actually in the pump assembly(the plastic housing that the pump goes into). cheak w2j (teknet) he has them.

an on another note when u upgrade to the walbro please dont run the tank so low. remember fuel cools the pump! i guess i may be kinda paranoid but i dont like to see anything under quarter.
