Evo MAFs testing

Postby LevinBZR » March 19th, 2010, 7:56 pm

Folks, seeking wisdom here...

I need to know exactly how I should go about checking my Mass Air Flow sensor to determine if it's good or not. I'm trying to troubleshoot a rough idling problem which arose today.

I was wondering if anyone knew the readings I should get if I check the connections. I've already used the connector cleaner on the wire (assuming that this is the anode type setup on the inside of the MAF) and the connections so I don't think it's a matter of the system being dirty. Before I invest in a new one, I just wanted to make sure that this is the problem.

If anyone knows, the help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Anil, but I not looking to go there until I check the air flow properly first. When I unplug the jack that goes into the MAF, the idling returns to normal. I'm assuming that this is the problem. Frustrating like hell...

Thanks brothers It wasn't what I thought. The timing was slightly off. The car is back to it's usual deceptively quiet self. Thanks for the help. Peace.

LevinBZR, any cause for the timing to come off?
