Vibration when accelerating out of right turns...

Postby LevinBZR » May 14th, 2011, 3:51 pm

Folks,

I have a bit of a problem. I re-installed my coilovers during the past week… also installed a few bushings on the front end (cradles etc). However, when I’m accelerating out of right turns I’m getting a severe vibration on the passenger side…. like an earthquake, I’m very concerned….

From my limited knowledge I thought that it was unlikely that I could have dislodged the passenger side axle while the spindles were disconnected from the shocks, but if I didn’t think that was not likely, I’d think it was that. I was wondering if it could be my ends or some joint or linkage that I may have damaged … I’m hoping that when I put the car back up in the air I find out that I simply failed to tighten something adequately…. If this doesn’t work, I need to troubleshoot this… Help, please.

Thanks in advance

I have this issue with my lancer whan I had the conversion to 1800 gearbox done. My axle is a bit too short and on the edge of the cup... prior to that I changed andused a 1.5 axle thinking it would work and that was even shorter; which ended up breaking in the cup and further damaging the edge... and i get exactly what you get when either decelerating or accelerating in or out of a corner with the wheel locked over to the left.

Vibration would be obviously something in the rotational aspect of things... anything from a set of loose lug nuts to axle nut to the inner tripod joint/ outer cv joint .

Also check and see if no lines etc in the way of the car when at right turns... check and make sure as the coilovers have the car it isn't impacting some part of the car while at lock...

Agreed... check the CV joints... I got these same symptoms in my CK lancer when one of my velocity joints were going. It wasn't bad enough to get the 'clack clack' sounds yet, but those came soon after.

Thanks, I'll check it out soon... Keeping the car parked up for now. Once I figure it out I'll let y'all know.
