hep!! lck lancer not starting just a click wen key is turned

i drove my car today an an when i switched off the car an tried to start it back i am only hearing a click wen i turn the key.
what could be the problem here, is the starter gone?????

Been thru that before. Got an electrician to hook up a starter relay I think it was. That was years ago. Can't remember exactly. Never had a problem after that, up to when the car was sold.
Mine used to start after a few tries like mafia gen said

get a multimeter..check baterry...if it below 10V, it sure dawg ded...if it still above 12.5V..its de starter....get an electrician to check it

if your key switch is worn you will get this problem. I had the issue and though it was the battery check it and it was not had the car scanned and found all sensors to be in working order. Then someone I knew asked me if I checked the key switch when it was changed the problem stopped. If you switch the car one and off a couple of times it may start

I had this problem... Changed starter- no luck, put a relay, worked for a while and same problem.
Solution:
Check the ground wire (wire that connects the body of the car to the negative on the battery. Put 3 wires, one on the engine, 2 on different parts of the body.
