See what car that chassis belonged to below.
Whats alarming is the part in the chassis that reads 1U means that thats a 2001 car.
Them serious with the PCM plates???

You can start the thread with this entry bro. Believe it or not, some unsuspecting, evo enthusiastic and not too knowledgeable person is gonna buy this car and realise they got F$%^&ed when it's too late.
That's the sad truth right thur
MISHI wrote:Pros:
-Anyone can drive it
-Seats not recaro so more comfortable
-still handles corners like a bat outta hell.
-Steering wheel carries shifter buttons
Cons:
-Many came without vented bonnets which IMHO needed here. (many local ones i believed were changed. )
-A/T and Transfer case parts hard to find and would have to be ordered from Japan
-Fuel consumption... yes they drink fuel regardless of manual or auto
-ACD/AYC in evos causes you to have to drive a little diferently when the car slides...
-Parts on the whole are expensive.
Pretty much other than that it's pretty much the same CT9A wise. U can source parts from local tuner businesses like Teknet for example or if you have your own skybox and the part numbers, you can order items from the USA with the exception of RHD specific parts, The A/T and transfer as I stated in cons section, AYC system and the VII specific bumper, bonnet, rear bumper and wing. U would have to source that from at least the UK or more likely Japan.
If you're buying it, first thing you should do is have the timing belts changed. They use two: the cam belt and the harmonic balancer belt. Also would be a good idea to repace the water pump as well. Then you're good for another 5 years or 96000km.
Driveline fluids should change at least once a year or pretty much 15000 - 25000km for transfer case/ rear diff and AYC clutch bath fluids... as well for the ATF. (though that might be overkill). Radiator once a year with a good brand coolant. brake fluid IMHO also annually.
Engine oil of course every 5000km with a good quality synthetic oil. Your choice there. Many like Mobil 1, some like amsoil (as myself) Some like Valvoline etc.
There are lots of resources online regards to understanding the car and any issues etc. I suggest you join the mitsubishi lancer register forum as is has good info on the EVO in general as well as any tips or tricks. There is a section called the MLR evo buyer's guide: this is something you should read. Also a good idea to download the workshop manual. This can be downloaded from evoscan.com website in the manuals section.
The car drinks gas like a child drinks juice: The 48L tank really is nothing and by time you blink and the heavier your foot gets the faster it's done. I'm praying we don't hear about the local fuel subsidy being raised anytime soon.
The drive experience is different to the subarus: even the RS model evos in the fact that the car has AYC (Active yew control) and ACD (active center diff). All it means really is that there so much bloody electrical gizzmos in the driveline to keep you as straight as possible. Now this in mind, driving balls out and the car gets squirly, naturally you tend to countersteer etc but in the ACD/AYC equipped cars it wants to sort out all that for you... which means you can get yourself in trouble if you don't let the car do it. I know it's a strange thing I am saying but you have to experience it to understand. Simple thing like entering a solodex competition and pushing the car to its limits will help you understand it.
Other than that I can't say much more as I don't know very much on the GT-A. I drove one before I purchased my Evo 7 and it was a blast despite it being auto. But I think honestly something about an EVO just doesn't feel right in Auto trim, especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust that makes it sound like your average B14 passing by with a big muffler... but that is just my opinion.
