Neutral light on my cs3 lancer keep blinking

Postby S]<uLLeR_DAN » September 10th, 2013, 4:02 pm

Neutral light on my cs3 lancer keep blinking.

It comes on sometimes, then comes off sometimes... only once or twice a week it does that. even when the car is driving, the 'D' is solid but the 'N' keeps blinking.
Anyone know why this is happening or what i can do to fix this?
My car works great, no problem with transmission, no loss of power, no leaks, i recently changed my radiator because of overheating problems, my fans gave out on me so i changed everything one time. Been working preddy good since. The neutral light blinking used to happen before the heating problems..

Anyways it's kinda freaking me out cause the car works good as it always did but i feeling like i driving a time bomb with that light blinking.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Blinking neutral light on the CVT in a CS Lancer means danger. It's usually an indication that things are about to go bad. Change the fluid first. Don't just drain and refill, have the transmission flushed out. You want all the oil in the torque converter to come out.
Refill and see what's up with it.
If the problem still exists, get a scan done if you haven't already done so.

I changed the oil.... gas started burning as normal, it was burning a lot more. An car feels like it's running better, been over a week now and no Natural light blinking. Thanks for the advise. Didn't know a simple oil change could make such a big difference.

 no problem at all.
Glad to help. I went through the worse with this Cs CVT transmission.
The change interval for the transmission oil is every 20,000kms. Once you go over that, you start to see signs like what you were experiencing. It requires a little more attention that any other conventional transmission. My brother had a B15 and in two years he never change the transmission oil and had no problems. Can't get away with that sheit with a CVT.
