Could anyone recommend if buying a Sharkmouth is smart decision based on availability/price of parts etc ?

I owned a very nice VRG for 3 years. Even though the prices the seem attractive, I would suggest you look at another vehicle. These Galants are old and parts are becoming ever more difficult to find. I called all over the country looking for Japanese cradles when mine needed replacing (front and rear double wishbone suspension) but had to settle for Korean-made which didn't last long.

If you aren't lucky like I was to get one with a good working GDI engine, the conversion to 6A13 is a hefty cost considering the value of the vehicle and it's a gas guzzler. 4G63 is even more expensive. The local model has a reliable N/A 4G63 but it's also guzzler and replacement parts are also difficult to find if your car is down and you need the parts quickly.

I was very lucky to not have any issues with my high pressure fuel pump but I wouldn't touch another Mitsubishi GDI engine of that era with a 10 feet pole.

It's in the rear of the engine bay neear to the injector brain .....if u did a conversion it will be part of the new harness....and the power wire to the relay won't have any current so ...u will need to just add current
..and you should be running

Wow, I saw your prior Galant for sale and was really considering it, thanks for sharing that feedback. It seemed like a good candidate for a VR conversion later on too.

I just really like these cars and always wanted one compared to these newer cars. I was even considering buying parts from the US as I know they sold there too.

So correct me if wrong, what you're really saying is don't buy as a daily driver unless you can source a donor chassis for spares?

If you used the correct parts and everything was installed correctly then the only other issues would be a wiring problem, a coolant leak that has gone unnoticed or an issue with the computer itself

Hello. Sorry I missed your reply. Regarding your question, I would say yes. With the age of these cars, I would look at buying something newer as a daily driver. Factor in the cost of replacement parts, engine and drivetrain (if you can find them) and the dollars really start to add up.

Hello All, I have a Viento Aspire shark mouth gallant with 4G93 engine. and is experiencing idling issues,
The problem only happens when at standstill, the RPM drops very low and the vehicle idles very rough, But when the vehicle starts to roll even in slow in traffic the RPM returns to normal,
I have changed the Oxy sensor, the step up motor and services the throttle body and no improvement seen,

Egr is dirty. You have to scrap the intake manifold to clean the build up properly.
