Media Graphics Ltd. wrote:Bleeding is very easy.I Installed an engine in a friends vehicle weekend and no issues since initial procedure. Car MUST be level. Highest point of the cooling system must be the reservoir (not overflow). So basically you cant have any hoses above the reservoir cap because air goes to the highest point. You want the air to go to the cap to be pressurised and then forced into the overflow where it can suck back coolant as it cools. So basically fill up radiator, fill up engine from reservoir, start car and the water pump will start pumping coolant so the coolant level in engine will drop. Keep filling until coolant level is full. when it starts overflowing then put on the cap. make sure the overflow is filled with coolant as well. Monitor system to make sure fans come on and go back off and that it doesn't overheat. Done.

A few medium revs when the engine warms up helps with the coolant circulation.

I'm interested in that question as well. I didn't think ppl run super in their LGT...
Btw. My issue was a burst hose below radiator. -_-

Any differences ( good or bad) from the standard tune and premium ?

Curious.. I considered trying to go that way but wasn't sure if it'll do any harm in he long run. My setup is just a the stock VF45, custom DP, catback, with brake and suspension upgrades.

well tbh i cant really compare it to anything. I bought the car with a blown engine and when i pulled the tune it was insane. Very far from stock. Boost was crazy high as well as timing. The guy i purchased from really did say he kept having to change blocks.I tuned after doing repairs, as it is im making 250whp on the 5eat with a conservative tune but my injectors are completely maxed out, water meth is what saving me. Not ideal but thats my choice. Hopefully will have it rectified soon.

I actually chatted with RTune, Ryan, who indicated that alot of ppl run super on their Subarus. A tune for premium or super will cost abt $2k. Understandably there will be a lost in power with the super tune. To return the lost power, a water meth kit and exhaust upgrade or at least cat removal will be necessary.

250 at the wheels with super isn't bad at all.
I Plan to add water meth soon. I'll compare with premium and with super tune and report back when i get some results

Why will anyone use purple blaster in thier engine bay? Get yourself some simple green.
That oil you spray under there dry rots rubber from what someone said in another thread.

Leggarz ain't a fast car so I won't go trying to race sr20 men. Depends on the vehicle the sr in as well. Leggarz is heavy so a man with an sr in a march might give you some trouble but awd and superb handling on your side.
Focus on your ride being classy, safe, quick enough and a somewhat of a panty puller. Don't get caught up in box lancer and A31 party.

Have a tuning thread for the ej motor as well and the premium gas issue has been discussed here. No need to kill this thread with it.
Super is a no-no for these.

id say out of the box dont use super, it already has high compression ratio for a turbo with our gas. If you build your car around it, then it will be fine. Also a sti weighs slightly MORE than a legacy. So weight isnt really the issue if you modify the vehicle to your liking.(suspension, brakes, weight distribution, gearing & power)

Let's talk. Sti 6 speed or wrx 5 speed into a legacy gt. What problems would be encountered?

The swaps should be pretty much identical.

This should only be an issue of budget. The 6 speed setup is superior to the 5 speed in every day.

Regarding the intricacies of the swap. This was covered in Vexxdogg's thread, I believe.

IIRC he had the wrx 5 speed and he had some issues with the conversion ? Can't recall correctly.
Had the pleasure of driving it and it was pretty decent.
