^^^ met up with media graphics (really cool guy btw) last week. He observed that my main coolant reservoir cap was rated at 88Kpa when it shud be 108kpa and radiator cap replacement was rated at 127kpa when it should be 137kpa. Keeping fingers crossed that caps were the problem. Haven't re- installed thermostat yet. Wish I had a lift in meh yard...lol
Ok I got through thanks to one of the most helpful tuner I knw. He contacted me and came to my location on my timing and diagnosed the problem to be a clogged heater core.
1. Heater core was bypassed with U hose.
2. Metal water line was replaced with new .25" water hose together with others of same size. T splitter was used.
3. Radiator and reservoir caps replaced with new original.
Its worse than gone bad, it gone completely and high temp silicone used to seal...but not too well. Made this one using oil filter seal. Will see how it goes. I believe that this may be better than the original due to it being thicker and designed to take high temps. It was taken from a used filter btw. Will still like to get original just in case.
Just checking...was speaking to a guy yesterday with a bl5 and he said that the Honda and Subaru coolant is the same. I using the oem coolant...just curious. Always good to knw
I wudnt say that the afr was going up. But the scent I was getting is that of black exhaust smoke at high speed or during/after wot.
Had the gaskets for up and downpipes replaced with steel gaskets today so il be monitoring over the next few days. Wish I cud just change entire exhaust.
