BNIB leaking coils

Postby trini iceman » March 14th, 2016, 9:52 am

A customer with a 323 bought some BNIB waste spark set and installed them but had to reinstall the original because they were leaking. I doubted when he told me at first but when the car got to me they were leaking badly. I have to be honest I've always bought foriegn used coils for my vehicles and never got a bad one but I also never owned a Mazda. He told me that other owners told him this is normal and to never buy BNIB Mazda coils. Anyone here could chime in?

Once the plug boots fit snug there should be no leaking.

I have 2 cheap chinese coils on my car and no leaks. They work no different to the originals when they were good.

Quality control on chinese crap is questionable so leaks are not impossible.
