To me I noticed no difference in the ride quality - they rode exactly like the originals, and up to when I sold the car 18 months later they were still working great. I'd recommend getting it from outside the dealership, but stick with the good brands if you can find them (KYB, Tokico, etc.), especially given the price difference as S/Sales parts prices are ridiculous.
Just make sure you get the right shock for your car, as they're 2 different types of shocks for the BJ models we have here - the Japan and the Singapore models. The ride height of the JDM is slightly lower than the SDM, so the mount for the swaybay links on the shocks are different for both models.
According to what the mechanic told me you can, but you'll have to get the corresponding swaybar endlinks as well. As you'd expect, the JDM endlinks are shorter than the SDM ones. I can't personally verify that it will work though since I've never tried it.Groovemaster wrote:So can I use JDM rear shocks on a SDM 323? Trying to get rid of that high rear look!
Mines was an SDM as well, and I too was happy for the extra ground clearance, especially during the rainy season with floods. Still handled nice and sharp, at least good enough for me. It was the best handling car I've owned to date.TurboDrive wrote:I have one of those "stompers". On more than one occassion I was glad to have one.
