Hi Mazda experts, I have a 2005 Mazda 6 with over 200,000 km on the odometer and the LF engine. The transmission has become jerky and the "hold" light is blinking. In view of the mileage I have decided to change the engine and transmission together. In looking around the Bamboo I am finding different versions of the LF, the main varieties have either one or two sensors on the valve cover and some have the coil packs in a unit behind the cylinder head while others have individual coil packs on each plug. The one in my car has one sensor and the cluster of coil packs and does not seem to be available anywhere as it seems to be the oldest version. Does anyone have experience and advice to give on using a newer model LF and transmission in an old Mazda 6?
